Why this site exists

Most espresso machine roundups are written to sell whatever pays the highest commission. We built this one to actually be useful first.

Pull & Steep compares home espresso gear on the things that matter long after unboxing, not just the specs on the box: how forgiving a machine is of an imperfect grind, how long it tends to stay reliable, and whether the "easy" automated features work as advertised.

How we research. We don't claim to run our own lab tests. Our guides are built from manufacturer specifications, published expert reviews, and the patterns that show up across thousands of owner reviews. When we describe a product's strengths and weaknesses, that's where they come from.
